Anyone Been Out In The 205 Enjoying The Sunshine?

Recommended Posts

Richie

Whenever the sun is shining, I drive randomly for probably a good hour. Today has been no exception. Hit some country roads earlier and it was really quiet. When a twisty road presents itself with good visibility and there is nobody about, there are few cars i'd rather be driving.

My 205 is a daily driver, you forget what it's like to stretch its legs when you're sitting in traffic going to work. Summer is coming, and i plan on spending a lot of money on petrol!

Today was great though, had a few people complimenting the old girl. It's all worth it on days like today, you know what i'm sayin'?!

:)

I drove mine a quarter of a mile to my parents house. Would have liked to have gone a bit further but had lots to do today.

Went out briefly to discover that my wheel weights rub on my GTi6 calipers :lol: So quickly reversed back on the drive. Went for a very brief spin, but remembered I had no headlights in so didn't stay out for long.

Is the first bit of decent weather we have had since mine has been on the road. Have been down to the south coast a couple of times over the winter, but really look forwards to filling the Thermos and going out for decent drives, especially when the sun is going down. That for me is why I built this car up.

I've been using the 205 I got off ebay last year for the last few days after completing a beam rebuild for it prior to this weekends lakes trip & because none of my other cars are working / reliable at present. :angry:

After a quick wash down when it came out of storage on Saturday;

I wish! The 205 needs some major de-rusting before it comes out of hibernation.

Somehow, a Peugeot 306 1.4 doesn't quite entertain in the same way <_<

Went for a spin with a few mates, in quite an unusual mixture of cars...mine could do with a clean compared to the others!

Went out on Saturday afternoon after giving the 205 a good spring clean. I ended up being followed around by a mint clean, red, 'G' plate Escort RS Turbo. We stopped at a set of lights with him behind me and through the rear view mirror I saw him point at the mighty pug and gave it a big thumbs up, so shortly after I let him past and did the same. It was good to see another enthusiast out in his pride and joy, and even better to see the looks on peoples faces when two really clean 80' hot hatches came grumbling past :D

been out in my 205 quite a lot recently, really love how tight the car feels after most of the front end suspension has been reworked, rear beam needs doing next.
