Hi Guys

 

I have at my disposal a perfectly good gti 1.6

 

but have mislaid, bet really lost the key

 

Anyone suggest any way to go about sorting it without a massive bill from peugeot?

 

 

I guess i could get a new barrell and key from another car, and use central locking from an alarm.

If you can get into the car, not really a huge problem. If you can't get in, they're fairly easy to break into, i won't tell you how on here for obvious reasons! Or you could break a rear quarter window as it's the easiest to replace and fairly cheap.

 

Swapping the locks is simple enough bar the ignition barrel, you'll have to drill the retaining pins in the barrel or break the column to release the lock.

 

As it happens you're not far at all from me and i have a spare lock set, rear quarter window and upper column should you choose to do it that way!

Have you tried a locksmith? Many can rebuild locks and they may be able to get the key template number from Peugeot? Worth a try?
