Realistic Valuation Please Guys

Im seriously considering parting with my 205, too little time and too many things to do means its not going to get the love and attention it deserves. Ive just put it back on the road after 4 years dry storage and got it Mot'd, as part of this Ive given it a refresh with all fluids changed, new battery, new cambelt & tensioners, new water pump, new BBM coolant and oil breather hoses and new fuel lines from the fuel filter forward.

1989 G reg Miami Blue 1.9 Gti (One of the original limited edition 1.9 Miami's with full leather)

Engine

1905cc D6C Mi16 engine completely re-built less than 5000 miles ago with:

New Oil pump

New Bearings

ARP big end bolts

New piston rings

Honed Liners

Head skimmed

New valve stem seals

Valves re-lapped

All gaskets, liner seals etc replaced

Bottom end balanced and flywheel lightened by Richard Longman

Distributor advance removed by Richard Longman and springs and balance weights altered to suit advance curve.

Gearbox

Car converted to lift-up reverse type (Its been so long since I played with 205's I cant remember the BE etc name!).

Mi16 box completely re-built by Miles less than 5k ago

Quaife Diff installed brand new by Miles at the same time

Fueling

Matched Pair of Weber 45DCOE's bought new by me for a previous 205.

Genuine Weber bottom mount twin cable linkage

Turbo (vacuum fitting type) fuel pressure regulator with return to tank

Filter King glass bowl secondary regulator

Exhaust

Maniflow 4-2-1 Mi16 manifold mated to custom stainless large bore centre section with stainless centre silencer, Magnex back box.

(engine running at correct angle with PTS bottom mount)

Suspension

Billstein Sprintline yellow ?Sprintline? struts and springs up front with matching rear shocks - purchased by me less than 5000 miles ago but cant remember exact spec.

top mounts replaced at time of fitting the above.

front lower arms replaced w/ new genuine items less than 2k ago

Rear beam was completely rebuilt by me approx eight years ago for a previous 205, new genuine shafts, bearings and seals, covered approx 20k, no nasty noises and works as it should.

Top strut brace

Brakes

306gti6 calipers and disks up front, standard 1.9 gti on the back.

Wheels

Genuine PTS Speedline SL434's in gunmetal grey with polished rims, bought and imported from France by me less than 2K miles ago at massive cost, immaculate condition.

Bodyshell

Im very critical when it comes to cars, its 23 years old and has the usual carpark dinks etc, the paintwork is a bit faded on the roof and really could do with a respray, it looks great from ten paces when washed but its no show queen. The Passenger sill end needs repairing - literally the end return, I have removed all the seam sealer in the wheel arch return wher the mud and water collects and primed the area, the inner rear wing and sill are fine and have been waxoiled.

Interior

The rear grey leather seats are in the usual good condition, the front seat centres are fine but both sides have the usual bolster wear and the drivers side needs one of the bolster leather panels replaced, grey carpets and door cards are fine.

All in all its a bit of an animal, very fast, rolling roaded and set up at Richard Longmans producing 186bhp when the conversion was first carried out.

I have no plans to break the car, I couldnt do it to a much loved toy, hate seeing 205's die and dont have the time, please dont ask for parts or send me 'if your going to break it PM's'. Im after a genuine idea of what it should be put up for sale for if I decide to sell up.

Thanks

Jez

Miles

Modified car's as you have no doubt seen don;t fetch much at the moment due to the trend of standard car's so I would say somewhere around £1650.00 as spring is in the air, If it's good history and you mint the car up inside, outside and under then maybe £2000.00 to the right person as it's a period mod unlike the 6 engine's
