Great Insurance Quote

Just fealt I had to come on here and sing HIC's praises after just getting off the phone with them, car isn't ready yet but wanted to make sure i could insure it before i finished it.

The car;

1.9 205 gti, gti6 engine fitted, stripped out, buckets, cage, harnesses, gti6 brakes, 309 axle and wishbones, exhaust, agreed value

Myself;

21, 4 points from speeding, no NCB (on my other car)

£690 fully comp, i'm very happy with that as it's only £30 more than i pay on my daily car (306 hdi estate)

The quoted me £278. Okay I'm 29 with no point and more no claims but worth a shot. Classic car policy is the way forward. Plus I don't think they mind mods.

Footman James don't want to insure under 25's they quoted me 2k for a standard 1.9.

bloody hell that is quite cheap, im undertaking a similar build and I got some quotes before I started with 4 years no claims they were coming out more expensive from sky, and flux didn't try anywhere else because I deemed it affordable but if you can get it that cheap hopefully I can too

Hope you didn't tell them the cars not on the road yet - its like getting a quote for something you're thinking of buying....... mega cheap - then you buy it and "sorry Sir, we can't find that quote on the system................"

yeah i didn't bother with footman james because id heard the 25 thing before.

I didn't even try them, what kind of quotes were you getting from them? HIC was the first place i rung so after that i was happy and thought i'll be able to get it atleast that cheap so im happy.

I got the quote then when he aked if i wanted to take it up i said it's not on the road yet but i'll ring back when it is, he did say if you ring back in a couple of months it could be half the price of double the price...but hopefully it'll be pretty similar. I have an e-mail off them which i'll save that proves what they quoted me

I didn't bother trying 3rd party, i've always been fully comp, i'd be mortified if i crashed it after all the time and money i'd put into it when for another couple hundred quid at renewal time and i could have had an agreed value and guaranteed payout

I tried around september last year just before buying the car, and i think they were both similar fully comp they wanted around 800 quid iirc that was with 4 years no claims.. that was gti 1.6 converted to gti-6, 6 brakes, buckets, harnesses, cage...

 

I will definitely be trying HIC when i finally sort poor thing out
