Sorry to thread jack but as we're on the topic of MBC's, my wastegate actuator inlet nipple has snapped off so my car's currently running de-waste gated. If I fit a bleed valve would this help with some sort of boost control?

No! A boost controller just stops the wastegate opening till whatever psi you have the boost controller set to, without a wastegate your up the creak without a paddle. Put an adjustable actuator on it and it'll be fine.

 

Manual boost controller's are fine. AVOID bleed valves, there useless.

No manual boost controllers are very good really. Most of them do the job alright, but they're not what you'd call proper.

 

Kind of like having carbs and a dizzy instead of bodies and mapped ignition. If you can afford it, always go for ECU control or an electronic boost controller.

As Baz says, dawes devices are better as they don't spike like the other manual boost controllers do.

 

Very reliable when set correctly.
