Removing Drivers Side Drive Shaft

Recommended Posts

When removing the drive shaft i take it the intermediate bearing stays on the engine mount or is a part of

the drive shaft itself?

How often are these likley to get damaged when removing the old driveshaft?

Bearing stays on the shaft, shaft might need tapping out if it's not been off in a while .

so is it wise to use the same bearing or just replace as the shaft is out anyway?

I usually just have a spin of the bearing whilst it off and if its nice and smooth i reuse it.

i got 2 new drive shafts(interpart shafts) and took about an hour each side to do, luckily for me everthing on the car has been well

maintained and greased so the drivers side just tapped out.

put new shafts in as before i had a nasty rumble from the drivers side and now that has been eliminated and drives perfect

as i was there i replaced the pair as the drivers side was original anyway, hockey stick bolts were nice and free to release

easy job.well chuffed
