cocopops2001 2 Posted March 13, 2012 I have a 1.6 CTi and as parts fail I am hoping to upgrade with better and/or lighter parts so that performance will gradually improve over the time I have the car. I have saw a few items for sale in the forum and was wondering the following: What are the differences between the 1.9 and 1.6 hubs? Will 306 GTi brakes fit onto 1.6 hubs or do I need 306 hubs (or any others that will fit)? Is there much,if any, advantage of the 306 GTi brakes over the 1.9 brakes? Will changing to 1.9 hubs require new driveshafts and will they fit into the 1.6 gearbox? What mods would I have to do to the rear brakes if any? I am asking as, assuming they are still for sale, it seems I could get a set of 1.9 callipers and hubs for around the £100 pound mark and may be worth doing the upgrade at this sort of price.
