Gearbox Input Shaft Seal

Quick question really, do all be gearboxs use the same input shaft seal.

Need to order one up after stripping my gearbox today.

yes, though the metal clutch release bearing tube that the seal sits in was modified in 92, later ones do not use a gasket.

Mine must be the original one then. Take it with the later type one fitted you don't use a gasket ?

nope, and the metal sleeve/seal carrier is a different part number

 

if the sleeve is scored at all it'd be wise to just replace it as an unit as it comes with the seal already fitted

Can you still get the early type be3 input shaft seal then. And I can't use the later type seal/ housing ?
