My mate has a Mk2 Golf GTi with the Mk3 GTI engine fitted, but this is what he wants to do with his. the engines are ment to be builet proof.

 

The most common place for rust on the Mk2 is the fuel filler behinde and around the funnel itself.

Well my mate bought the golf, it's actually really clean only a few stone chips etc.

 

Electric windows don't work though.

 

Power wise, it is proper quick, I was actually shocked at how quick it was and how effortless the car picked up the power.

Heavier yes, but then since most VW fanboys like to ride around on stretched tyres with the floorpan dragging on the floor, handling isn't really a consideration :ph34r: (although the extra depth of the VR6 would be). And 174ps (2.8) or 191ps (2.9) is a reasonable chunk better than the 1.8 and 2.0 16v engines that were what, about 150bhp? Plus the added torque. And then the noise :wub:
