I Need An Engine....

Recommended Posts

I am a complete novice when it comes to things like this I am trying to decide what TU engine I should put in my 205 I need to to run with an old fasion distributor. What tu engines would be a good direct swap from an 1.4 xs ?

Dropped a valve 8months back, been taken for a ride for the last 6 months by some bloke that said he could fix it. He has now turned round after me spending god only knows how much money and says it wont work. I am either looking for a well respected peugeot specialist to sort out the mess of it or a new engine which I can drop in it and get back on the road.

I would appriciate it if I could get pointed in the right direction of someone that could help me out with fixing the current engine!

Many thanks Dave

ive not had it running so i cant say, i bought it of a lad who did a 16v conversion on his rallye. Spose its the same with any engine you buy really, you cant tell what its like inside. Ive got no reason to suspect anything wrong with it, thats why i put it on ebay, so people can decide what its worth. I'd imagine a few bits would need doing and needs an ecu/loom

Put a 106 gti engine in it, you could say it makes the Xs a little bit more lively... ;)

I am trying to keeping things looking standard. Also the XS is also just a get me back on the road engine, I currently have a 1.6xsi head ported polished with twin 40 webers waiting for something to go on seeing as the guy I was using said it would work with a cat cam 4900645.... when I had the 106 1.6 xsi engine rebuilt and ready to go in he said that the lobe on the cam was to large and would mash the pistons/valves. If anyone knows that I can do to make the engine work I would be over the moon!

Many thanks Dave.
