Back On The Road For Summer, Anyone Else?

Finished off the Rallye on Friday (again), put 6months Tax on it, swapped over the insurance life is good again!

 

Anyone else done the same or waiting till 1st April, May etc

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

(note I left the aerial up from cleaning and a quarter badge has fallen off )

still looking awesome Allye! hows that gearbox holding up? no 205 on the road for me this summer, the CTI is up for sale soon. on the lookout for something to do once im out of the army, hopefully a rallye. got myself a s1 106 rallye lump and fancy doing something with that ala euro rallye... will see what happens. when did you get rid of the arches?

Long time no see Tom! Took the arches off last winter during the 6 install, decided i prefer it without, like to keep the exterior fairly original.

Ditched all the standard fan cowling so go no where to mount it! Need to make some little brackets or something, going to do it soon as stone + radiator =

Yep! That would be me, only Rallye in the area now Ash is in Salisbury

No I didn't, you drove past as I was pulling up to Nursteed road and I only saw the side and rear as I followed a few cars back towards town.

CTi was dragged back out of the garage, where I've used it as a skip for the last 2 1/2 years! A few basic checks and booked in for MOT..... rear shocks were leaking (why do they do that after being stood?) N/s rear brake binding, leaking gasses from rear silencer (no excuse - I should have noticed...) Drop link rubber unsecured and the N/s driveshaft boot had popped off and one rear light bulb managed to blow while on the ramp!!!! - All done and re-test on Friday Have discovered a small drip from water pump....so thats weekend's mission .............Better be a good summer!

i just put my engine back in on the weekend and i have nearly all the bits to rebuild the whole car in time for hillclimb in may does that count? not been out for 5 years so thought best get sorted

Just tidying up and rebuilding the rear beam on my Cherry 1.6, should be ready for summer

I'm getting some new speakers loaded up on the doors so there will be enough sound power to the nights on the beach ( i'm in Portugal , we get a "real" summer ).

Also just repainted the dashboad matte black, the old grey was getting old and discolered.

Switching to another set of wheels also, and after that just getting the car detailed so it looks as nice as the work that has gone into it.

i hope so that my project is finished this summer. It just must be!!!

 

It stands still since december 2008... (even had a sabbatical year.. or 2 uhm...)

 

Now a have a new colour and a bigger turbo.

i still have to do minor things like the welding the exhaust (got only a downpipe now), mapping the KDFi, fitting my refurbished rimms and some other little things...

not specifically for the summer, but have got my 205 back on the road, been parked up for 2.5 years or so, already got carried away with the spending and bought torsion bars, fitted a £10 magnex manifold and bought some mintex 1144's,

 

Been rolling on odd coloured C5 wheels and winter tyres since Christmas.

I was going to dig the Eunos out from my friends garage where it's been hibernating all winter for the start of this month, but the Sorrento being stripped on the driveway and having bought a cheap 306 GTi-6 off a friend, I have absolutely nowhere to park it!

 

The locals will just have to wait for their short back and sides until the start of April now
