Hi i have a an origonal cassette player, standard from new, fitted into my gti. Can you buy an adapter to convert car loom to plug into modern cd player without choping it about.

A harness is still available from Halfrauds. Its what I fitted for my new dab stereo. Harness Adaptor PC2-06-4 £14..99.
