Back From The Bodyshop And Some New Bits.

Recommended Posts

Wes

well i had my car in the bodyshop last week to get the rust on the bottom of the sill cut out and repaired and my auto bonnet with louvers painted. for anyone in the southwest i can highly recommend martock panel craft who did this for me, they do lots of work on kit cars, classic cars and supercars etc and can actually fabricate panels like they did on mine. heres a few pics, the bonnet wont be to everyones taste but i like it and it keeps the temps down under the bonnet.

also i fitted my gti16 badge to the back and replaced the rear lights with new valeos from http://www.carparts4...CFYUmtAodwAHO-w as the reflectors where pretty dull and people struggled to see the indicators in the sun.

have also made a iphone mount to film my trackday laps. i cut up an old rear view mirror and bonded it to the screen just below the existing mirror. its very solid and still removable when not needed.

Looks a very tidy car! Where did you get the GTI16 badge from? I'd love one! I've seen side badges that say 2.0 instead of 1.9 before too and wondered where I could get them from

gti16 badge's are pretty rare now, there is a couple people on here with brand new ones but they sell for about £80-£100 on ebay!

mine is second hand from a forum member who lives near me, think i paid about £30 for it.

side badges used to be made by a member on here but he doesn't do them any more.

I'm really liking that!! Tidy repair and I got to say I like the phone mount!!

Not seen an auto bonnet with the vents before, still undecided as it's the first I've seen, but looks alright in white IMO... :)

Tidy sill repair. How much was it for the work? im thinking of an OSR sill repair for rust as my repair is coming back after 18 months. PM me if you don't want to reveal the cost details on here.

Looks like an excellent job.

One lower quarter of mine has a rust 'chip' on the arch edge just above the sill so I would like that doing at some point. Would be tempted to use them!
