Loss Of Oil Pressure Whilst Turning

iv had a quick search but couldnt find anything (dont know if im using the wrong words or something?)

 

basically any quick turns or hard breaking and the oil pressure will drop completely and the 'stop' light come on.

 

is this normal? or is there something i can do to fix it? thanks

As above, mostly happens when the oil level is too low but definitely isn't considered normal.

What engine, and do you actually have the correct dip stick fitted?

 

Different dip sticks show the oil level at different points, so with the wrong dip stick, you might think the oil level is at full when it is actually dangerously low. Certainly the symptoms sound very much like low oil level.

 

If you're suffering oil starvation to the point of getting the STOP light on repeatedly, then you will kill the bottom end bearings sooner or later.

I changed the oil and oil filter and that seems to have fixed it! i also cleared out gunk which had got into the air pipes
