High Idle When Gti6 Is Hot

Recommended Posts

allye

This has happen a few times and only ever when the engine is up to temp, hot/warm.

After a run turn the car off, then turn it on again and it instantly revs up to about 3k RPM without me doing anything?

I usually turn it off, wait a few secs then back on and its fine

Any ideas?

Thanks, Ali

Quite commonly sold on the OC so I'm guessing so. Afraid not Allye!

Very common on most 06's, they moved away from the good old Bosch ones

Aaaaahhhhh! Another symptom of mine, a dip of clutch and a blip usually clears it. Will def clean the ICV tomorrow.

No, the Bosch ICV's are very good, the Mag M ones are pretty crap in comparison which are a completely different type to the 2 or 3 wire bosch ones

Just to follow this up, I indeed had a bosch ICV, gave it a bloody clean out and got all the crap out of the inside and now it starts and runs much better, also doesn't do the high idle thing any more. Good times!
