Slicks

Hi

Can anyone help?

im currently using Avon soft hillclimb slicks which have sadly come to their end of life. As BMTR are the only supplier they are highly priced at 210+VAT a corner. Someone has suggested Silverstone slicks which seem more reasonable. Has anyone used them or know how they would preform against the Avons?

Pete

Short answer - worse.

Have a look on the Uphill Racers forum, there was some discussion on sourcing Avon tyres on there recently and they have a much higher percentage of knowlegable members when it comes to this sort of thing.

Stick to avons they are best suited for hillclimb a15 compound they don't last long and cost a lot but if every one else have them and you don't your gonna loose!

I've run supersoft rally slicks and now on the Avons, the difference is like night and day. If you want to be competitive take the pain of the price and stick to Avons.

Not sure if they would be the correct compound for you mate but I bought some used 15" slicks from Ears Motorsport which were competitively priced.
