Ph2 Gear Knob

Ok.. I know this has been covered before in many threads and the general advice is to "yank it" and "watch your nose".

 

Now..i'm not a big boy.. but I'm not a wimp (spent thelast few years labouring)... but do you think I can pull it off!!

 

I've twisted..i've pulled... i've been worried about damaging the linkages etc..my hands got sore and i've sweated.

 

Do I have to ask it nicely first? Is there any other way to get it off without cutting the stick. I don't need the gear knob..it's brown and worn/old...any suggestsions? I'm thinking about ramming a screw driver up and trying to pry it up and off...

Try twisting it from side to side before pulling it, to get it loose. If you really can't get it off you could take a hack saw it and just cut the knob, stopping before you get to the metal.

If you don't want the knob just cut horizontally down the side of it with a junior hack saw.

Ok thanks. I'll go and attack it later and maybe then I can fit the 206 one without any more problems...(famous last words)
