Door Handle - Gap Between Handle And Door

Recommended Posts

205Doorhandle.jpg

The handle on my peugeot doesn't sit flush against the door (as seen above).

I think I may have the wrong screws fixing the handle to the door but wondered if it could be any other common reason or is it a standard feature. It is similar on both sides of the car and there are not enough 205's about to check any others in my area.

Thanks

likely to be a missing nut or the door is bent where the handle is bolted on.

Its secure to the door, so don't think there are any missing fixings. I will try to take the handle off to see if the door is bent. Thanks.

Has the spring underneath the handle slipped off? - mine did this and the handle stands proud slightly.

You need to hook the spring back over the tab on the handle if this is the case - the spring pulls the handle closer to the door.

Going to give the car a good clean tomorrow and will check if it's bent or the spring is unhooked then, thanks for the help.
