hi, i have a 1.6 gti and i can find on the main loom [that runs around engine] a connector for the crank sensor?

Have you tried to search the forum for "crank+sensor"?

 

As it is a very common question.

 

I'll give you a clue, on a 1.6 using Jetronic injection (all of them) the crank sensor is there but not used.

The 1.6's don't even have a crank sensor
