I've been researching rod bearings. Found some info you may find useful. As you know, copper/lead bearings for Mi16's are hard to come by. However, it turns out that ACL have a few options. They make a bearing for the 405 turbo diesel in F780 (copper/lead) in std, -0.3, -0.5 and -0.8 undersize. The catch is the tang is in the wrong spot. Easily fixed when reco'ing the rods however.

They also make std rod bearings for XU9's in F810 in std, -0.3 and -0.5.

They also make a "race bearing", same material, F780, in the normal XU9 petrol configuration, but it's only currently available in std and -0.25. I suggested they add -0.5mm to their range. There is a possibility if they get enough demand. I've thrown away plenty of Mi16 cranks that could otherwise been saved if there was -0.5mm. So speak up! Contact your local ACL rep.

turbo diesel - 4B1685

standard petrol - 4B7702A

race bearing - 4B7700H

Peter, do you know if 405TD or even xu9 rod bearings are suitable for an XUD11 92mm crank? Have somewhere read journal width was bigger on xud11´s but I´m lacking accurate info.

The journal and cheeks are wider, so side float needs to be controlled, but the bearing is fine.

There are two types listed on the ACL site:

4B1670

Uses identical halves

O/S: STD, .30, .50, .80

4B1685

Uses an upper and lower, with the notches on opposing sides.

O/S: STD, .30, .50, .80

My findings:

I used XUD9TE bearings on my XU9J4:

Foto-YQREQZZY.jpg

The shape on the edge is different from petrol ones and material looks really different

Findings on the forum:

He explicitely told us that the XUD9TE/XUD7TE-Bearings are the best in the price-area of the XU9-bearings to use

and will run for at least 500tkm in the diesel engine.

They have a harder surface and wont wear as fast as the petrol ones (which are 2-3euros cheaper)

...

xud9te is glyco81-material,

xu10 is FMH116 and

XU9 is something even weaker!

i got this infos directly from the manufacturer,...

Pug number for 306 1.9 TD to be complete: 0606.J7

The effective width is less than petron ones, but they fit without modification.

I'm not an material expert, but found it plausible enough to use them in my engine. Engine is still on the stand, so no proof of theory yet...

looking through servicebox for the XUD9TE. 606J7 have inline locating tabs, where 606Q5, superseeded by 606CF is offset, as per usual XU's IIRC, same part as early DW10TD (606CF)

XUD7 D9 and DW8 use different bearings to the TE.

Early XUD7 has two bearings listed, difference stated as for being iron or steel crank, steel crank bearings same as XUD7T.

Most arent particularly expensive still from Peugeot, if not NFP.
