Value Of Half Leathers

Recommended Posts

What are the current values for half leather 'chequer' 1.9 seats?

Mine have a saggy bolster and a hole in the leather.

I have come across a set in great condition with no sagging, and no rips, tears or holes. They have a few tiny inevitable creases, but nothing a decent treatment wouldn't sort. I think they would come up nearly as good a new, and certainly among the best you would be able to find.

  • What is a full set front and back in great condition worth?
  • And what would my ever so slightly better than average ones go for? I'm ignoring eBay values.

Recently I sold half leather seats in beautiful condition for 250 euro (just 2 front seats). Sold next day after posting, I had about 5 messages and phone calls, make me think I could easily sold for more.

I have also advertised rear seats in immaculate condition for 120 euro and there is no interest at all. Hope this will help.

I would say they aren't far off that with a feed Para.

Over there people generally pay silly prices for things like that don't they? Presume it's to do with demand and lack of supply without having to pay shipping.

I'd kill for a set of good condition cloth seats.

A set of Phase 2 half leathers in the condition of Para's are easily worth £150-200 in my opinion, quite possibly £250 to the right person.

Phase 1 half leathers are less sought after and worth less - probably half what a Phase 2 set are worth I'd guess, although I would expect that to rise in the next year or so as they become rarer and more people start buying and restoring the earlier cars. At the moment, it seems to be Phase 1's and Phase 2's that are worth the money, and Phase 1.5's less so

A set with a rip/hole in the leather and a collapsed bolster on the other hand, aren't worth a huge amount to most people - the bolster isn't so much the issue as that's par for the course, but the ripped/holed leather means that their value is distinctly limited as that either needs an upholster to repair or another good donor seat.

Cameron, give the guy a ring, he might still have them http://cars.donedeal...le/cars/2908862

@ chipstick if you want to get few extra bobs for the price and hassle of shipping you can try to advertise them in France, I saw sets for 205 GTI for a ridiculous prices like 600 euro

Am i right in thinking its ph1 with the grey/red stripes

Ph2 with the chequer?

Or are there also ph1.5 chequers also?

Mine are black leather (ph1.5 car) so not sure if they are the originals or not.

I'd kill for a set of good condition cloth seats.

I was given a decent set years ago. Put them in a 1.0 4 speed which was crushed iirc.

Late Phase 1.5 1.9's (1990/G) came with Phase 2 black/red half leathers as standard.

Phase 1 and most Phase 1.5 1.9's came with the grey half-leather with the Quartet (sp?) fabric.

I see. I wasn't sure if there was a grey leather chequer and black leather chequer.

£20 to £200 classically, like everything it's a funny market and wholly dependant on what someone's willing to pay.

Ph1's i think have already come up a little as they're getting rarer and are innevitably harder to find in good order, a lad i know sold a mint set and i mean 'Mint' about 4 years ago for £350. I was gobsmacked!

Back in the day, me, ben and james have sold a few sets. Im sure i sold a set on ebay for £400 (green h leathers) where as when i sold a set last year they made sub £150. Luck at the end of the day.
