Lacko 0 Posted February 16, 2012 Hi all, have trawled the forum and i cant find any topic that talks directly about this, but what tyres would you recommend on 1.9 alloys?? i think standard they run 185/55 but i was thinking push it a bit and get 195/55. I have a 1.6 atm and got the 1.9 wheels just dont know what size of tyre to go for! any recommendation would be greatly appreciated Tom
davey sprocket 14 Posted February 16, 2012 185/55 or 195/50 to keep the rolling radius and therefore gearing/ speedo as close as possible to standard
Anthony 1,002 Posted February 17, 2012 There's a better selection of tyres and at cheaper prices for 195/50R15, which is why many (most?) 205's with 1.9 wheels tend to run them. There's loads of recommendation threads regarding tyre choice if you do a search - either Falken 912's or Hankook Ventus S1 Evo's getting my vote for sensible money, and Michelin PE2's are also very good if you can stretch to the extra.
