Flat Wipers On 205

Recommended Posts

Thoughts?

I'm thinking they may look a bit too modern for a 205.

Anyone got pics of it done?

And what size are they supposed to have? My current ones match, both 18" off the top of my head

I had one (albeit as a single wiper) on my track car, it looked pretty cool and worked even better. I don't think there's anything wrong with fitting them, it's a nice modern touch that doesn't spoil the look of the car and something I've been meaning to do for a while.

I would only recommend Bosch blades though, for what they cost it's worth fitting something that isn't like scraping a greased twig over the screen. My first one was a generic eBay one and it was awful.

Edit: from memory you want 20" or 21" at a stretch.

I've got flat wipers and I think they're rubbish. They don't clear the screen fully

To be fair I've never driven in the rain so the ones on there may be fine as they are. It's just the arms have surface rust bubbles, so when I repaint them I would like to renew the blades so they look fresh as well

Id hazard a guess you have rubbish ones paul! I personally think they look crap on 205s. Old s*itty cars should have old s*itty wipers!

I would only recommend Bosch blades though

I've found Bosch and Valeo to be useless. A cheapo ebay 18" triple pack has served me fine. (although i do clean the windows quite often with auto glym glass cleaner)

Ok.....

I have Bosch on my Mondeo and they've been perfect for years, same goes for the one on my 205.

I've always used cheap ebay ones to great success (if having a clear windscreen can be called success)

I've used Valeo aero wipers on my ZX, worked great my local motorfactor stocks them.

didn't use them on my 205 as I use standard valeo silencio type with 405 spraybars, these work great too.

Flat wipers don't look right on old cars if you ask me.

I've had them on mine for a few years. I don't think they look right, and would go back to OE wiper blades in a shot.

I've had retro fit flat wipers on my cars for a few years now & having tried several different ebay suppliers have found the best ones to be the aero flat wipers that are correctly handed for use on the rhd cars with the blade sat to the top of the wiper.

Those with the central blade (twin edge? ) have been very poor by comparison.

They work so much better than oe wipers, original or not I find vision in rain much better than looks & they don't look that bad.

can get some later, they look like arse as the pipes are cable tied on at the mo, but my car isnt exactly a minter lol

its a very basic design, basically a plastic wide angle sprayer glued on the top of the blade

I've got (or had when the car was in one piece) BX spray bars on the wiper arms used with the retro fit flat wipers.

I thought they'd come up with a more elegant solution, that's why I asked :).

same on mine 19" valeo jobbie, they do the job better than standard add to that one less wiper to drag across the screen you get a quicker action, the look obviously is personal preference but I don't think they look out of place atall
