Big Capacity 8 Valve?

Recommended Posts

edbar

Im looking at making a few engine changes over the winter and one area im looking at is making my alloy 8v into a 2.0 or above. I have seen 85mm pistons advertised by je pistons and wondered if many people have done them? Also what liners and crank to use? There are so many 16v 205's about im interested in mkeeping the 8v to be a little different and before anyone says 16v are better I already know this is a fact im just looking at going old skool.

Any help or advice appreciated as always.

I can't offer any technical advice, but like the idea of a large capacity 8v, I would love a 2.2 8v for some reason.

To be honest I have no idea. Its an iron block with oversized pistons and a mass head apparently. It feels really strong though

You can look at the pinned post on larger CC's, but 86mm bore is possible on the Alloy blocks, Not cheap at all now thou as the parts would have to be made up, Used to run around 3 of these back in the days of the Mod Prods

Hmmmmm im liking the idea, although weight would the rear its ugly head. Sounds good though and Wardy's seems to go like the clappers with an iron block 8v! What would 86mm bore make it capacity wise miles?

so did Peugeot  not quite that route though, which would be damned expensive.

17 kilos, are you really going to notice that?

btw, 16v is old skool they've been in 205's for over 20 years

If you had 17 kilos sat on your head I think you would notice it when trying to run a slalom  Im aware of conversions being done since the dawn of time but 16v has nothing to do with the question I asked so its not relative at all.
