Yes, same fitment.

Does seem like a somewhat backwards step putting carbs on a '6 though...

indeed, I think the last one i heard of made no more power, but drank significantly more fuel

do the right thing and save up for an ecu IMO :)

i got the carbs cheap of a m8 of mine as throttle boddies work out quite pricey, surely with some decent mapable ignition (omex 200) i should see a good power increase?

I don't know whos that was but mine made 180 bhp with carbs and dta and was quicker down the straights than standard gti6 engine 205s and a tb mi16, O and it was better on fuel than my road going 306 gti6.

Keyword there is the DTA though, with proper ignition management i can see it wholly being worthwhile,. Anthony and Mei were referring to running a '6 on carbs done the backwards/monkey way of using a dizzy adaptor and 8v ignition.

*sigh*

You have bought a 16v XU manifold, for a Mi16 engine.

I know for a fact this will fit a gti6. I moved a manifold from a mi16 to a gti6. AFAIK, all XU 16v Inlet's are interchangible.

The manifold will fit but check the dowel on the head locates first before bolting it down.

At least Janspeed have Burlen Fuel services by them, If you looking at traveling that far then there's Aldon's in Brum or Whilshires Garage's in Cambridge
