Shell V-Power

Recommended Posts

Hmmm... Our local Shell station has recently re-opened after a lengthy refurb. I went fill up with Vpower again yesterday and every pump for the aforementioned was out of use. So maybe they'd run out?? or there was a problem with the tanks or somesuch?

Has to be said my 1.9 ran so much nicer on the previous tank of it that I got but that's probably because I'd been running it on regular unleaded all winter.

I only ever use v power in mine so thanks for this, will be visiting my local tomorrow night to fill up. Hope they don't put the price of v power up before they start the deal.

i used it for several tanks and ran the car on the dyno with it and the difference over esso super unleaded was negligible the cost over a year tho would add up, i still use my gti as a daily car,

I treated by daily barge to a tank full of V Power diesel today, even with the 5p off it was £1.45 a litre, I hope (but suspect not) that it is worth it.

I thought 'special' fuels were only any use for modern engines that could adjust themselves in real time to make the most use of whatever octane was available (putting to one side any benefits due to cleaning engine internals)

naah, the old 8 valvers were designed initially for 4 star which was 97 octane, they do run best on SUL with the ignition set to suit.

I filled up on this deal last night, thought I might aswell as the standard unleaded was nearly the same price !

That is actually why I put this message up, around here(Leicestershire) the difference is 6p a litre between unleaded and V-Power, so 5p saving made it virtually the same, thus worthwhile.

Absolutely, a good heads up, thank you.

I hope I didn't sound grumpy about it.
