Bucket Seat Mounting ?

Recommended Posts

lukesaddy

I have had a search and i cant find anything.

The problem i have is i have a sabelt bucket seat, omp side mounts and an omp 205 gti seat subframe.

I mocked it all together and the seat is nearly touching the roof

Has anyone got any guides for seat fitting so i dont hit my head off the roof? thanks

There are at least 2 threads I know about that show how people get the seats lower.

Type: +seat +lowering into the search box and you'll find a tonne of info.

The "best" thing you can do for getting the seat low is to replace the original mounts with some rails and box the exhaust tunnel in a bit, then you can just use your side mounts. Of course this is only good if your class regs allow it. Loads of info on this mod here - http://forum.205gtidrivers.com/index.php?showtopic=97309

sounds like your trying to use the side mounts bolted to a subframe then bolted to the car? if thats the case it will sit way too high. best to use just the side mounts bolted straight to the car, but this means welding in two steel bars between exhaust tunnel and door sill. or use the subframes only but you will need bottom mounted bucket seats not side mounted ones.
