Would This Be A Useful Tool For Peering Down Bores?

It seems USB endoscopes are cheap and plentiful on eBay, so I was wondering whether they are any good for looking into cylinders and other dark orifaces (ooerrr!) around the car?

Here's one I found:

I've just been thinking of ways of inspecting it there's any unwanted fluid/crap in my cylinders.

With a lens diameter of 14mm I wonder what the total width of the head will be.

But even at 14mm I think you'll struggle toget it down the plug hole.

would be quite handy I would imagine, especially as it has led's on there too. It would be good in many occasions to record a video of a problem and view it a few times rather than lying under the car trying to see things.

Good point, I'll have a hunt to see if there's a smaller headed one with LEDs.

Yes, searching for flexible endoscope brings up an assortment, some of which have 9mm or 10mm diameter camera lens, good luck!

Don't you need to consider the minimum focal length? The one in the first pic was 6cm so even if you got it into the bore surely you'd be limited to which parts you could focus on.

plugs are 10mm threads iirc, so you need something about 8.5mm or less in diameter.
