I bought a set of 16 inch wheels and tyres last year and had them shipped with paisey freight for £28 quid https://www.paisleyfreight.com/?source=google&segment=cars&gclid=CMOszf_SjK4CFYgmtAodUnR4dw

The seller wrapped them individually in card/ bin bags and stuck an address on each of them. No extra postage and no comment by the courier :)

I sent a set of wheels the other month and did excatly what Craig posted above. Booked through Paisley Freight, CityLink picked them up and no questions were asked. Was a right pain in the backside packaging them up though.

Same as Craig

I used Paisley Freight with no probs. I had some of that pallet wrap stuff on a roll so just wrapped the tyres in pairs and they picked them up and delivered no probs. Think I might have wrapped the alloy faces in cardboard to protect them

I work for a big orange courier company...

My advice is to pack them well!!!

As mentioned above, card all around and bag them up, tape over the bags...

I had a set turn up to me today from a forum member who packaged four in two packages. the outside faces inwards so as not to damage. GREAT idea and turned up fine...

Just be aware that no matter how well you package them up, most courier central hubs have massive complex conveyor belt systems which will send parcels high in the air and sent back down a slide... package something so you know it won't break or damage if, or more to the point when, it's dropped...

Cheers for the help guys, I've got them booked for £15 at interparcel (they are light 13" wheels mind) I will do what you've said, drop the PSI tie them up tight and wrap them. I've ordered them as one unit as it was cheaper so it will be a large unit lol

Bluebolt cheers for the info, hadn't realised how rough they where with items :0

I'm not saying every item is thrown about, but mistakes and "accidents" happen... I'd not have done them as one personally, but at least this way they won't use a conveyor system for them. They'll get barrowed or rolled instead which should be better for them

I use cardboard and pallet wrap for large items. I've only ever had one thing damaged by a courier and that was a 20hp outboard
