Will An Early 106 Rev Counter Fit?

Hi. As everyone probably knows I'm converting to motrinic mp3.1 (slowly!!!) and have been on the lookout for a suitable rev counter. I'm not sure about modding one because of the varies opinions on whether it works or not. I have the option of one from a phase 1 106 xsi. Would that fit a 205 dash, because it should have mp3.1 as standard?
