New Alternator And Still No Charge :(

my gti6 converted 205gti has got a chargeing falt,i have changed the alternator but it still wont charge,i have replaced the conections on alternator aswell,i run the multi meter direct to terminal on alternator and the no charge there nore across battery,any one got any idears what else it could be
