Central Locking Remote

Recommended Posts

Hi guys,

I've been thinking about the central locking system in 205. I've purchased this brand new set, part number: 6552. N6 . Set was listen in the motor factor as 405 central locking remote but when I run the numbers in Servicebox it appear that remote is the same for nearly all the Peugeot series 309 205 405 605

Does it mean the set which was listed as 405 is interchangeable with any other 309 /etc and it will fit my 205 ? I guess receiver has to be the same size in all of the models and it will fit beside the mirror in 205. ?

Also I am curious about item number 5 on 205 drawing, never seen a remote like this before (it's listed now on ebay here: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BRAND-NEW-GENUINE-PEUGEOT-205-405-605-309-DOOR-TRANSMITTER-/150749411806?_trksid=p5197.m7&_trkparms=algo%3DLVI%26itu%3DUCI%26otn%3D4%26po%3DLVI%26ps%3D63%26clkid%3D6032753528192253099#ht_1372wt_911 ) what is the difference between my remote and remote number 5 ?

Thanks,

Mike

I purchased a 405 remote central locking system from ebay (there was a thread that someone had made about fitting it) and it came with that blip key (number 5).

With a slight bit of modification (dremel a lug off) the 405 unit fitted perfectly under the inside light

405 setup works fine - I've got a Phase 2 405 combined central locking key and blipper on my 205 :)

I've recently bought a receiver (for the top console with a sphere) and a remote key off someone on here,

but it doesn't work on it's own - the RC unit operates a module that becomes the master switch for the

central locking - doing the same thing you normally do mechanically with a key.

Your system seems different though?

How much did it cost anyway?

That's correct - the module you mention is item #1 in the pictures above, and on RHD 205's atleast it sits on a bracket bolted to the underside of the steering column (along with the lights on buzzer)

I don't know about EU spec cars, but as far as I'm aware all '91 onwards (Phase 2) UK GTi's had RCL as standard, and thus have the module and all the wiring in place. Retrofitting into earlier Phase 1/1.5 cars is going to be quite involved, as the wiring and module isn't there, and the wiring and locking motor on the drivers side is also different.

I have the sphare already build in in the upper console, so I assume to also have the module and motors for electric locking system. It looks like a straight forward job. So I'm switching the receiver in the upper console for the new one and then just pointing the remote and clicking unit it will work laugh.giflaugh.gif

I've payed 40 pounds, one of Peugeot motor factors is doing massive sale, good few bits to give away, I nearly lost my whole wages this week on that !

PS: It was the last one !wink.gifhttp://czesci-peugeot.pl/sklep.php?cid=search

 It shouldn't be a problem to retrofit a complete system out of a 405 :).

On the other hand, it may be easier to get a pattern remote central locking system, but ideally I'd ilke to keep the OE feel .
