Rear Beam Rebuild

Recommended Posts

SurGie

After a quick search i found http://www.ebay.co.u...=item43ab2a333c From the data on the listing it has all the properties needed to stop the shaft rusting, dirt etc clinging onto the shaft and lubricate the bearings.

The amount of posts you have spent time writing you could have posted the data you found too back it up, or do you not have any evidence of this ?

I have just managed to find this technical data > http://www.lucasoil.ca/data/tech_RedTacky_eng.pdf it is able to withstand heavy loads for extended periods of time etc. It is fortified with high degree of extreme pressure additives, that give it a true timken load much higher than other greases of this type.

Im still not convinced it will be no good for beam bearings compared to other greases that does not resist to water/moisture.

Im interested to see the data you found that shows its not ideal for bearings etc.

Surgie, if you want to use this grease it is your choice.

Everyone else is intelligent enough to make their own choice from the information presented.

As above. I am not going to argue with you. All the data is in the public domain.

To give you a clue, look at viscosity and compare it to a typical EP2.

Im not trying to argue with you, im trying to find out how you came to that conclusion when it states what uses the grease is ideal for. Its now clear that its not ideal due to its lower viscosity ratings.

http://www.sealing.com/fileadmin/docs/Chesterton_613_Moly_Grease.pdf here is some more data i found about the above moly grease i linked. http://www.mapro.skf.com/products/lub_lgem2.htm has a higher viscosity than the EP2 Grease, just.

The EP2 grease has high viscosity but not so much at higher temperatures, i did not realise it has anti corrosive properties http://wwwd.graco.com/Distributors/DLibrary.nsf/Files/340609/$file/340609A.pdf

Will the above Moly grease block the oilite bearings pours like what most EP grease's would, always good to get a second opinion ?
