205 Trim Fixing

Recommended Posts

justinv

Hi,

Am in my final stages of putting together my 205 and yesterday had a go in putting the arches back, now who put them on before me just used sealant hehe. After a good and long cleaning process I bought a trim clim set from ebay which should fix the trims properly, does anyone know which go where as I guess that this set has some buts missing in it.

Attached is a photo of the trim clip set i bought and if anyone feels like putting tags near the types of clips and which go where it would be very helpful

Thanks

Justin

top row left, door and 1/4 side trim clips, top row right, rivets for aforementioned clips.

second row left, fibre/felt washers for arch trim pins,

second row middle, red stripe clips, attach onto same type of rivet as steel clip.

second row right, arch trim clips

third row left, inserts for arch trim clip holes.

third row right, circular steel washers for rear of clips through arch.

4th row, white clips rear end of front arch trim IIRC, grey clips slide into the red trim on front arch trim.

bottom, possibly arch trims as well.

I don't think that is enough to do everything is it? Could be to do one side.

The front and rear red strip takes probably around 16/20 white clips that you have 8 of in the middle to the right.

The tossers that sell these had me over.

I needed a kit to do my car and it said it was a kit so you would expect enough to do a full car, nope only half.

Ebay didnt want to know, there bloody expencive to.

ok that what I was thinking aswell, the white clips for the arches there are not enough for both sides, what I was concerned about are the black clips bottom left of the picture, these fit exactly in the holes for the arches and the washers at the back grip into them aswell, the only problem is that when removing them you have a great chance of ruining the arches as they clip on very tight

I'm sure Welshpug will correct me if wrong, but I believe they sell the kist on as Pug supply them, so it's Pug's fault, not the eBay seller. Now if the eBay seller is listing it as a complete kit, that's another matter.

so the white clips go in all the arches right including the washer and rubber wahser and the black inserts, I just can't think where those black ones go !

I never use the white clips on the arch's anymore as they don't work well compared with the black type with a cup that fit's into the arch, Which you can get from Wurth for not allot of money, the only clip which is a pain to obtain is the front trim's red strip

The bumper kit's are a different part number,

Yep I oticed that you cant get them as looked through wurth catalogue and that does not happen to be there, basically all the others are available from Wurth, I will compile a list of trim clips available from them. Do you happen to know if the white clpis are actually available from Wurth ?

I'll need a few of them plastic ring bits that go in the arch trims holes in the wings, so the trim fits nice and tight. I have all the other bits needed, so does wurth sell them ?

Or are these black ones Miles is on about only needed alone ?

THe black ring clips that go in the wings I have bought off Wurth here, the only ones I did not manage to buy of Wurth are the grey ones for the front wing red inserts and the white ones which go in the front wings, the rest you can almost match up all of them from Wurth.

Also they do not have available the clips that hold the tailgate trim in place.
