Gearbox Identification

Just about to order a clutch for my f-reg 205 gti 1600 , my local motorfactors stocks 2 , pre 89 be1 gearbox and post 89 be3 gearbox . the box on the car is a 1600 Miles rebuilt box , but im not sure if its be1 or be3 , it doesnt have lift up reverse and ive noticed a few be1's do .... can someone put me right please ?

Reverse below fifth = BE3.

excellent . so im running be3 but originally car was be1 , chhers Baz

i agree with baz and am sure all be1 gearboxes had a lift up reverse so you must have a be3

yeah , your both right , according to my reg i had a be1 . but all the be1's id seen had lift up reverse . its not a problem just didnt know .
