Clock Plug Pin Out Pic Required

Recommended Posts

pugpete1108

the last bit of wiring i need to do to is wire in a clock.

i removed all the wiring from my loom along time ago so no joy there.

james sorted me out a plug that will plug in but all the wires are green so i really need a picture of what goes where from the plug (just wiring numbers will do along with a picture?)

cheers

pete

cheers dude but i do need an actual picture, i have a plug with some tails on it which are all green with no numbers so i cant even cross reference anything?

i basically need to know what the wire numbers are from, say right to left looking at the plug from the top.

It's not an oe plug as I didn't have one on a scrap loom so found one that fitted and added extra wires, hence all being green!

If I get a chance Pete I'll pop out to the garage and see if I can see the numbers.

This thread reminded me that I needed to check a few of the spare clocks I had to see if they worked.

Red (13a/13b) - 12v constant

Green - Earth

White (32b/27b) - 12v switched to illuminate backlight

Green (14b) - Dimmer (earth for bright, unconnected for dim)

That's what I just worked it out as using a 12v supply. Now, where did all those clocks go...

cheers fellas, top work :)

just a quick one though.

how does the dimmer operate? or put it this way how can i get it to work given i have no original wiring for this circute?

i assume its brightly lit during the day and dim at night (or when the lights come on)

if it was a switched live then i could get my head round it but not the switched earth.

Switched earth works the same way, you either allow or stop current flowing by making /breaking the circuit. The amount of current controls the brightness...

yeah i think i have got my head round it, may use a relay that switches when the lights come on to go to dimmed backlight and bright backlight when just the ignition comes on.

something like this:?

You shouldn't need to do that IMO - have a look in the wiring diagram and see what it was done as standard and just copy that.

Oh right, I'll check again but I could only see the number 17 (clock) in one diagram?

All 205 Haynes manuals are the same right?
