Engine Work With Supercharger

I know there are now quite a few cars with supercharger (or turbo for that matter) conversions, but have any of them had other engine work done to compliment it, other than pistons/rods?

 

I have read a few threads where people have mentioned increasing capacity on the xu10 with either larger stroke cranks or 87mm+ pistons but replies are generally that there's not much point if 'charged? I know rebores to 88mm are still debated as to whether it's safe or not, so probably best avoided for boosted applications, but would an increase in cc not still be of benefit?

 

Also what about head work, such as bigger valves, and are there different cams that would be better suited to boost (less overlap?)?

 

I don't know much about the topic so hoping someone more knowledgeable can shed some light on it, as I couldn't find a lot of info by searching.
