Just a quick question before i cut my intercooler up, are they made from proper ally or cheap s*it monkey metal?

Obviously ally is weldable and i have done this a few times myself, so was going to have a go if it is.

 

It'll mean i can use 1 90 degree bend rather than a 135 and a 180 so less pipework, less joints and hugely less flow restriction.

Yes you can cut the end tanks off and re weld with an AC TIG.

Yeah i understand how to weld ally just wasen't sure if it was monkey metal or not.

I think the OE ones are made by Behr so will be good quality,

 

Probs high magnesium tho so be careful
