My Childhood Treasure – Cars In Barns

Recommended Posts

Just wrote an article on one of the highlights of growing up in England, and having an Uncle & Cousin who were far too into cars..

My childhood treasure - cars in barns

No 1,000 mile 205 GTis unfortunately, but still...

Enjoy

Ahhh I can see that being a pretty mouth-watering read. There's some ridiculously large collections around. There was that semi-famous one a few years ago somewhere in Continental Europe in a huge barn with a bunch of priceless machinery like gullwing Mercs etc. or something like that. I vaguely remember the story - owner died or something. I'm sure someone on here knows the one I'm talking about

I might add I'm doing good - although I'd be doing better if there were 205 GTis in this country  How are things with you, Simes?

If anyone cares I found what I was talking about (and it's definitely worth a look!)

That was a good article Ben. Back in the fifties when I was a lad I remember my grandad used to let a barn to a guy building his own car - I was hooked from then on

Glad you liked it Dave. There's definitely something magical about finding lost "treasure" - especially when that treasure is dragged out into the sunshine for the first time in decades and eventually finds its way back on to the road!
