Tu24 Throttle Linkage

Recommended Posts

The throttle cable on my twin DCOM carbs has broken so I need a new one. The standard cable from Peugeot is £32 but I'm wondering whether it would be better to get one of those Sytec twin cable setups.

Does anyone know if these kits for the DCOEs fit the DCOMs? Or are there any better options?

I'm also trying to figure out if I will need to change the brass bit that connects the linkage to the carbs as there is a ball which the cable used to connect to but these kits use a rose joint?

Have a look at that Rhys

Am I right in thinking the DCOM is a down draft carb?

The link give you options for the Webber and Delorto carbs.

Also, have you ever thought of using a bicycle brake or gear cable? Or a fire extinguisher cable they have "Pull Cable nipples" which work well.

Just spoke to Anthony at fastroadcars.co.uk, very nice guy!

He said that the DCOE linkages won't fit the DCOMs very easily because of the throttle arrangement and original mounts.

Looks like i'll be giving Peugeot a ring in the morning, I've got the part number off service box so they should be able to find it.

If you don't have any luck with Peugeot you could try getting a custom one made up. My cable snapped last year and I got a local classic motorbike place to make one up. Pretty good value at £15 as well

The original one works fine!!

I had a couple of extra DCOM's from an AX sport (same as a 205 rallye) which I fitted to my Fiat 124 spider 2.0 twin cam. I used a genuine weber DCOE twin linkage and the existing balljoint in the centre. This all works perfectly.

The DCOM is very similar to a DCOE but has 5 or 6 odd idle advance holes as opposed to the 3 odd for most DCOE. This is supposed to be better. I think the pump is also a bit different. In any case the linkage should fit fine on the top of the carbs..
