I Just Got My 205 :) Need Insurance Advice

Recommended Posts

AndrewUK1990

Hey guys, I am now the happy owner of a 1.6L 205 Gti! I am currently driving a classic modified 1.3L mini which i pay £2000 for insurance, (so high because of mods & a crash which i also got a DR10 for when i was 18 in 2008). Ive had a look around for insuring the peugeot when my mini's insurance runs out in May and so far the best ive found is either admiral or elephant at ~ £1750. Can anyone reccomend any companies that seem to be reasonable at insuring young drivers (im 21) on cars like the 205 gti at the moment.

Many thanks in advance to any replies!

Andrew.

Cheers Jon, I'm with Adrian Flux atm but they cant provide me with a reasonable quote atm, £4000 was their best for the Pug haha! They said they should be able to get a better quote when my mini runs out because ill hav 2 years no claims so ill try them again then. I havnt tried Footman James so I'll give them a buzz tomorow.

Much appreciated!

Afternoon

With that conviction and previous claim, you will probably struggle to get a lower quote than that advised.

Im with admiral, basically the same age and driving a 1.9 gti for £560 a year but i dont have any convictions, could be worth a call tho.

wow cheers for the replies! I think ill probs end up going with admiral as ive been with them before for 6 months on yet another mini ive owned as they were the best around at the time. I massively regret crashing my first mini and drink driving, but we live and learn! Taught me a lesson at least :/ I spent 4 years doing the car up only to write it off! Done another one up since though from a bare shell and its a great little car, lots of fun to drive! I've got the Pug cos its a tad more practicle for longer journeys :) in comparison to my mini anyway haha, 4.5krpm with a straight thru @ 70mph for hours isnt nice!

Yes i know there will be some difference but usually the charges dont change much over a few months & i jst wanted to narrow down my choices. Anyway thanks for help guys, I'm going to check with the companies again in april, but looks like Admiral should be my best bet.
