Best Place For A Ground Cable In The Boot?

Recommended Posts

johnnyboy666

wheres the best place to attach an amp ground cable in the boot? Ive just plumbed in a few new bits and peices seem to be having earthing issues. It's currently attached to a bolt which (i think) is the rear light cluster bolt, is there a better earth in the boot?

It's either the earth cable or the amp thats duff, so I'm trying to elliminate the least expensive first!

ah yes, now i think about it, that was the place I used to attach mine (you can tell its been a while since I've had anything other than exhaust noise in the car lol) fingers crossed it's just my bad wiring not the amp thats the problem!

I did some welding at the weekend and used the boot catch then as well with no issues.

I always used the rear seatbelt mounting bolts because you know its going to be a strong mounting into the body of the car, should be a good earth too. imho.

As above. I have my battery relocated in the boot and I use the rear seatbelt mounting bolt for my earth, near the rear light clusters.

changed it to the boot latch bolt and it worked fine :)

but i think the seat belt bolt might be the best place so will move it to there when i get in
