Clutch Cable Compability

Hi can anyone tell me whether a GTI clutch cable will fit a DT as mine become very squeaky?

Also can the throttle cable off a GTI fit a diesel?

All RHD 205 BE3 clutch cables are the same, so a GTi one is the same as a diesel

 

I don't think that a GTi throttle cable will fit though, as it routes around the engine bay quite differently. A generic replacement cable will be fine though.

The last clutch cable I got from Motaquip was OE (Dura) for cheaper than GSF, ECP etc. The part number is in my build thread.

No - that's a BE1 cable!

 

You need a 1990 onwards cable, which I've just double checked and is part number VVC367
