Sleeve Fit Exhaust On Phase 2 Car

Recommended Posts

Will Eastman

Have been looking for an sensible but slightly better sounding and looking aftermarket exhaust for a while now and having trouble finding olive fitment ones. Is it possible to fit a sleeve fitment backbox to a olive fitment car? If so how hard is it and how would I go about this?

Thanks

Can it be made to fit, yes, if you have grinders and possibly a welder it can be made to fit as can anything. Will it fit on easily, not really no.

phase 2 is the olive type 2 part system, you shouldn't have any issues at all finding one of these, they are larger bore than the phase 1-1.5 sleeve fit systems.

none of the hangers were changed so the complete systems are interchangeable, if you want to mix and match you need a welder and some imagination.

Cut the std exhaust down and fit a Magnex over it with a clamp, seen it done a couple of times, not ideal but it works

Do i cut it infront of the olive fitment or cut into the backbox system?

Afternoon,

I wouldn't fit a magnex system as one was on mine when I purchased it and it really is rather loud at reasonable cruising speed. Therefore, I will be reverting it back to a standard system over the next couple of months.

Also, this one had been fabricated as per Miles' comment but not very well though and as it was too long and hit off the fuel tank. Sorted with a little hacksaw and grinder though.

Regards

Chris

Just to confirm (before I part with my hard earned cash) this will be able to be made fit

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Peugeot-205-GTi-CTi-Magnex-Exhaust-Back-box-/150733373332?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item231868bf94#ht_500wt_1202

as miles sugested will I be able to just cut off the olive fit bit off my current middle section and slide the manex over it and clamp it on?

Thanks for all the help guys
