Wipers Have A Mind Of There Own..

My wipers have started playing up, sometimes they'll do nothing and other times work fine.. Any ideas what could do wrong?

 

It's a rallye with the base model two speed stalk.

prob best option, get quite fiddly opening them up and cleaning, adjusting the contacts...but is possible. Mine does nothing on 1st speed sometimes, until you tap the end of the stalk as if it had a horn button there!

Where would be the best place to look for a new one?

 

I'm guessing Peugeot would of stopped production and can't see euro's having them on the shelf..

Valeo and Febi still do these, most motor factors should be able to supply one.

I got my new one from a dealer (on this side of planet) last year.

 

oh, a new one will cost you around GBP80. I guess if you want to keep your 205 for long, worth investing.

could be the motor itself or dodgy connection somewhere ,worth checking before forking out 80 quid

Yeah it's so random, seems to do it less and less the more I play with them as I'm driving..

 

The cars full of earth faults so it's probably another on the list.....

Worth a squirt of WD40? If the car has been sitting any length of time in the damp it may just be damp electrics

Yeah it does sit for weeks at a time, being the third choice I don't use it all that often..
