Engine Stalled And Wouldn't Re-Start

Recommended Posts

buster205

I've changed my oil breather pipes (1.9 gti) and on taking the car out for a run it cut out and wouldn't restart ? Got it back home and the throttle cable looked slack(ish) Fiddled about with it (Still doesn't seem right) but car started and ran ok. Could a faulty throttle cable cause these problems ? Also should the inner cable move independently to the outer sheath ?

cheers

No - the throttle cable won't cause the engine to cut out and fail to restart, so you'll need to look elsewhere for the cause.

Thanks Anthony, i must have disturbed something when fitting the breather pipes because it was running fine before ???

probably the airflow meter plug, check the terminals inside it are secure.

if it ran ok, cut out then restarted when it had cooled, it points towards an ignition amp failing.
