Spare Parts For Pipe Flaring Tool

Recommended Posts

Ryan

Bit of a long shot, but does anyone have or know where to get spares for this kind of pipe flaring kit?

I bought it on ebay about a month ago and the seller cleverly managed to avoid mentioning that all the parts for working with 3/16 pipe were missing.

It's a Franklin F2000 (AKA Masterflare). I already tried Franklin but they stopped making the kit 18 months ago and don't supply spares any more.

Surely if it wasn't advertised as being incomplete or unfit for purpose, then Paypal is your friend for a refund?

The listing said something about "a couple of small parts missing but worked fine to do my brakes" or words to that effect. Evidently his car has 1/4 pipework. It's partly my own fault but the seller deliberately avoided mentioning exactly what was missing IMO.

Doesn't really matter now anyway. It's a really nice tool (I did a few 1/4 flares to try it out and they come out perfect every time), so I wanted to try to find some spares before chalking it up to experience and buying another tool.

what do the bits you need look like?

Basically the 3/16" versions of the 1/4" parts I have - the two tapered collets for holding the pipe (bottom middle in the photo), and the two punches (middle right) that screw in to form the flare.

They appear to be specific to Franklin tools. ebay has loads of spares for other brands, but none suitable for this.
