205 Turbo 16

Apologies if someone has already pointed this one out, but there is a very nice looking T16 for sale on the C&SC website, that's worth a look at.

Apparently it's a genuine group B racer, I find these cars fascinating, anyone got any idea what it's worth?

I've seen the road going versions on sale for around £70k, the 205's seem to be cheaper than the other group b homologation cars (audi, ford rs200 etc.).

Does anyone know anyone who actually has one? It's definitely on my list if the lottery numbers come up..

Shes a beaut. Got to be worth £90k. I know someone with an historic rally spec escort mark 2, he's been offered 3 figure sums for that.

It looks to all be there from the pics but would need to see closer ones to see more accurately. I was in a museum in Sochaux back in 2009 when one of the Vatanen 205 evo's was being auctioned off. It made 220,000 euros plus 10% auction fees plus French vat which was 19.5% iirc. It will depend on the cars history as to what it makes and how bady someone wants one. A seris 200 road car that had low km's went for around 68-70,000 I can't remember what, as we stopped bidding before that, but that had 15% auction fees and French 19.5% Vat to be added as well. Most things went for silly money that day including an armour plated black 205 gti.

IIRC, and I probably don't, there was a 405 T16 Paris Dakar rally car (that was held to ransom during the rally in the 80's) for sale a couple of months ago.

Price was 300k euros, but obviously this is a super rare car with history.

It still is, good car that and well sorted. Here's a link http://www.markdonaldson.com/automobiles_for_sale.html

It was at Pugfest last year too.

1 of 1 in that guise iirc? So not really comparative.

Mark Donaldson is a top, top bloke and a rally car nut to boot. He introduced me to a chap a while back who owns a genuine 405 T16 ex works, 2 205's and all sorts of other incredible gear including. BX4TC

I agree, hes a friend of a few of our team drivers in the funcup and drove a few rounds in one of the cars last season. He was a lot of help in giving feedback on performance. Might try and wangle a ride in the 405 :)
