Turbo's Gone On My Transit :(

Recommended Posts

Well it picked the best time to go didn't it!

I've got a 2001 t260 100bhp, its the duratorq engine, Is it an easy enough job to change the turbo on these, anyone done one?

need to start looking for turbo now, will start with ebay i think,

Its making a terrible loud jangling noise, its defo coming from the turbo, i just assume its lost one of its fins or something, theres no smock, it started to whistle a bit louder about a month ago so its been on its way out, just was hoping it'd be fine for a while

cheers Mark.

lucky it hasnt taken the engine with it, last one a mate recovered to his workshop had started to run on its own oil but was caught just in time.

wouldnt bother with ebay, just go to your motorfactors for a decent unit, around £400 iirc, not sure how tricky it is on the fwd vans, its a doddle on the rwd!

Bad luck, i had one go on my LT35 158 a few years ago. It was quite a rare part. i used CRTurbos on exchange. it arrived the next day and sent the old one back a week later. It was about £450 iirc.

Always regretted not getting them to make a hybrid for me.

Am pleased that didn't happen to mine, av seen it happen before tho

i checked euro car part and they wanted £550-£650 depending on which one lol

if theres any bits of fin that have come off the turbo can they get through the intercooler and be sucked into the engine?
