Gearbox !

Hi all,

 

Have a 1.6 gti and broke the housing on my box, I am running a be 1 box and have a 1.7 diesel be3 box in hand does anyone know if the housings match ?

 

Also does anyone have the ratios from a 1.7 diesel box. Besides at the moment I have acess to some gearboxes any of which are worth salvaging? like 405 diesels, 306 diesels, 205 diesels and maybe some junior stuff

are the housings on a 1.6 gti and a diesel box the same ?

i used a diesel box on my be1 gti engine no probs.

 

i do believe they both bolt on the same so would assume the bellhousings are the same?

 

get them both together and compare them?

As far as I know the ratios for the 205 diesel are:

 

1st = 3.30

2nd = 1.88

3rd = 1.28

4th = 0.97

5th = 0x76

Diff = 3.47
